Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey 2010 Sauternes Wine Comparison

In cellar of Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey I get a chance to sample the 2010 Sauternes vintage and discuss what kind of wine Lafaurie Peyraguey will be producing, with their Manager Eric Larramona.  

We taste direct from the barrel, in fact from the very 1st lot of the Lafaurie Peyraguey harvest. 

The harvest produced a series of small lots over a whole month of picking, making it a very different harvest to that of the 2009 Sauternes. I asked Eric how it compared with the exceptional 2009 vintage, and what other of the 9 vintages of this century so far would he compare it to?

Chateau Filhot 2010 Sauternes Wine Quality Discussed

Here in cellar of Chateau Filhot, surrounded by barrels of Sauternes, I'm discussing the 2010 Sauternes vintage with Chateau owner Gabriel de Vaucelles. 

A record 16 days of frost has all but halted the development of the 2010 Sauternes, lying here in barrels, so I asked owner Gabriel how he felt about the quality of the Filhot 2010 Sauternes.  Where they happy with it? And how did it compare to some of the other great vintages we've had so far this century?

Chateau Suduiraut 2010 Sauternes Development Gets 16 Days Frost

Called in at Chateau Suduiraut to see how the 2010 Sauternes vintage is coming along.  

This is a beautiful Sauternes vineyard which looks up towards Chateau Y'quem and at the moment Suduiraut are busy pruning back their vines.

Its very cold though and after a record 16 days of frost in Bordeaux it has just about sent the wines to sleep.
